Crepes not pictured due to me inhaling them. Vibes perfect and best black pudding I’ve had outside of actual Ireland LOL plus they were so nice to my mom and asked her if she liked her drink. Which was the plum wine. Which was so good too. This place is lowkey and casual and easy, friendly to those who prefer an unchallenging flavor profile but also catering to those who enjoy something a little off the beaten path

Hark! Shouldst thou find thyself in the fair hamlet of Hudson, in the shire of New York, and have not yet graced the threshold of Cafe Mutton, then prithee—delay no further! Forsooth, this humble eatery, modest in stature but mighty in spirit, doth serve victuals so wondrous, they would bring tears to the eyes of even the most jaded traveler. Upon entering, one is met not with pomp nor pretense, but with warmth, mirth, and the scent of meats most nobly prepared. The air is rich with camaraderie, and the space feels as though one hath stumbled into the hearth of a dear companion—were that companion a culinary sorcerer of the highest order. The keeper of this fine house, Shaina, hath wrought a marvel. A chef of noble spirit and bold vision, they hath conjured a menu both rustic and regal, a feast for both peasant and prince. Traveling thru Hudson and had breakfast at Cafe Mutton. Read a short review in BA and wanted to try it out. We had the soft scrambled eggs, crepes, pig head porridge, scone with jam, and sticky bun. Porridge, eggs, and crepes were all delicious and beautifully executed. Would recommend them. I’ve had much better scones. This one wasn’t particularly interesting and the Apple jam didn’t have enough apple flavor. The sticky bun is impressive looking and was recommended as a must-have. We found the glaze to be a bit too thick and heavy for the tender, light dough. The bun itself was really well made and the dough was great, but the “sticky”’part overwhelmed the delicate bun. We still had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend a visit. There are a number of items I’d like to try.

I love this restaurant. More places should be a unapologetically themselves. If I couldn’t would marry this place, small seasonal menu with some banging staples, the crepes transport me to Europe, the pastas are always top notch, the salad slaps and ALL the pate, sausages ALL the yummy meat stuffs are always on point. Don’t going you’re a picky eater. Actually, stop being a child. Grow up.

You have to visit this special place! They put a lot of thoughts into making each dish. The cafe is bustling for Sunday brunch. Everyone was very friendly and food came out quick. If you’re feeling adventurous their specials include some bold dishes! I truly love this place and it made Hudson such a cool town too. I prefer this restaurant to lots of Michelins. This is where you get food with a soul. We especially enjoyed the pig foot rice (it’s boneless and you don’t really see the shape of the pig foot) and stuffed duck neck (it was nothing like what we imagined; it’s kind of like a sausage. The dish has chestnut which is very special!!) Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!!

We had an absolute fantastic time at Cafe Mutton. we got breakfast on a Saturday and decided Sunday we should do the same exact thing! We asked to keep the menu as a little memory and Shayna drew us a little picture on it 3 The service was awesome and super friendly. We would drive 2 hrs for cafe mutton ANY DAY

Lovely, light-filled spot with an original and satisfying brunch selection, including house-made sodas and creative cocktails. I had the Jumper Cables, which included cold brew concentrate, seeetened condensed milk, and Underberg bitters. My meal was a Country Pate Sandwich with mustard and cornichons. It was perfect!

I’ve had so many truly incredible meals at Cafe Mutton. I love the attitude of quality first, paired down ingredients, and fun food combinations. Aside from the food, the people are great and the space is very sweet. I go every time I’m in Hudson
